Dylan Amy

Founder of Dylabz Connect, Paris

In two sentences

Dylan Amy is the founder of Dylabz Connect, a Paris-based web agency that builds and manages websites for small local businesses in France and across the French-speaking world. He spent six years in face-to-face sales, nearly three of them at Doctolib working with medical practices, before founding the business in June 2025.

What did Dylan Amy do before building websites?

I sold, face to face, to people who work on the ground. From 2017 to 2025, one job: understanding someone’s business well enough to offer them the right thing, and staying in the room when it didn’t work.

Two threads run side by side through those six years. The first is sales: prospecting for a multi-sport centre in Nantes, where I had to walk into a club or a school and grasp in thirty seconds the problem of the person in front of me. The second is technical, and starts at the same time. In that same role, I ran the social media accounts and produced the visuals. Outside work, I built my own online shops, from hosting to checkout, and watched what made people buy or leave.

At Doctolib, for nearly three years, the two threads came together: medical practices, appointment-booking software, and a good share of the job spent training practitioners who had already bought it. That is where selling stops being a matter of conviction and becomes a matter of use. A tool nobody uses has never really been sold.

No salaried developer job anywhere in that path, and that is deliberate. I learned to build websites by building them, for myself first, then for clients, after six years of listening to the people who would use them. A Dylabz Connect site today is coded in Astro and Tailwind and deployed on Vercel: no WordPress, no plugins, no quick fixes.

Why websites for small businesses rather than start-ups?

I grew up around entrepreneurs. My parents run their own shop, La Sarthoise, a butcher’s in Le Pouliguen, and many of the people close to me have started their own: building trades, landscaping, restaurants, bars. These are people who decide alone, do everything, and have no one to delegate to.

So I know what their week looks like. The supplier, the till, the staff, the regulations, and the website that comes after everything else, every week, for years. It isn’t negligence, it’s a trade-off: between the website and the evening service, the service always wins, and it is right to win.

Digital and artificial intelligence had interested me since my bachelor’s degree. The question I asked myself in 2025 was not what to sell, but who these skills actually helped. The answer had been in front of me all along.

The La Sarthoise website is now built and managed by Dylabz Connect. It is the only client whose trade I knew before I knew the brief.

What did Doctolib change in the way Dylabz Connect is built?

Part of my job at Doctolib was training practitioners to use software they had already bought. That is where I understood something that now shapes the whole Dylabz Connect offer: a busy professional doesn’t want a tool, they want a result.

A doctor who paid for a solution and doesn’t have fifteen minutes to learn how to use it has bought nothing. The problem was never the software. It was the time nobody had to make use of it.

Doctolib taught me something else, which is not a sales technique: you don’t sell for the sake of selling. Behind every signature there was a practitioner getting back hours of admin, and patients getting an appointment without picking up the phone. When the product really changes someone’s day-to-day, selling becomes a conversation rather than a push.

That is the value I took with me when I left, and it decides today what Dylabz Connect sells and what it turns down. I don’t take on a client for whom a website would serve no purpose.

I left Doctolib in May 2025 with nothing against the company. The urge to start my own business had simply become stronger than the urge to stay.

Why does Dylabz Connect never hand over admin access?

It is the direct result of those three years. A Dylabz Connect client receives no dashboard, no login, no password. They send their request by email or WhatsApp, and it is handled within 2 working days.

Giving a restaurant owner admin access means handing them the maintenance while letting them believe they are gaining independence. Most of the sites I take over died exactly that way: nobody was responsible for keeping them up to date.

What role does artificial intelligence play at Dylabz Connect?

Artificial intelligence works on execution. It helps structure a page, produce a first draft of text from your brief, review code and spot what a human read-through might have missed. It plays no part in any decision.

What your site highlights, what it leaves out, what makes someone pick up the phone: that comes from the salesman I used to be, not from the tool. A model quickly produces what you ask it for. It doesn’t know what it should be asking you.

That is the difference between a generated site and a designed one. The first exists in ten minutes. The second knows why the booking button is at the top and why the menu isn’t a PDF.

Where is Dylabz Connect based?

In Paris, where the business is registered. Clients today are in France and Switzerland, including Sierre, where two venues are equipped. I work mainly with businesses in France and French-speaking countries, and I’m open to projects elsewhere.

Dylabz Connect was first registered in Bordeaux, then moved to Paris. In between, I worked from Morocco, then from Italy. Not for the scenery: to see how shopkeepers and restaurant owners handle their online presence outside France. The conclusion fits in one sentence: the problems are the same everywhere, only the channels change. It also happens to show that the model works with no office and no travel, which is exactly what Dylabz Connect offers you.

What does Dylan Amy publish?

Guides for the trades Dylabz Connect works with, and for the topics that come up in meetings, written from sites actually delivered rather than generalities. They answer the questions a professional asks before having their site rebuilt, and they are free.

How do I book a call?

A twenty-minute video call to scope your project or simply ask your questions. You leave with an opinion, even if you don’t end up working with me.
